On view Star Fortress (Komárom), The Archaic Period of Greek Sculpture (650–480 BC): Kore and Kouros Figures, Gallery II

The marble statue depicting a standing, draped female figure is one of the latest korai from Attica, which was created at the end of the Archaic period. Originally, it must have stood at the top of a column, and was painted in vivid colours, traces of which — the red hair and the colourful hems — are still visible on the Athenian statue. The girl wears a long dress (chiton) and a richly draped mantle, complemented with a bracelet, earrings, and a diadem, which was decorated with painted patterns. Both arms were extended to the front; her left hand held a bird (the left forearm of the plaster cast is lost).
