On view | Star Fortress (Komárom), Famous Sculptures and their Ancient Reception: Niobe and her Children, Gallery VIII |
The Imperial period statue does not belong to the sculptural group preserved in Florence, but it also depicts one of the children of Niobe. The representation is more detailed and more vivid — it is the fragment of another adaptation of the tragic myth. It decorated the villa of Emperor Hadrian (117—138 AD) in Tibur.
