The figures of the helmeted warriors depicted in all’antica armour (see also inv. 51.903) are reminiscent of the massproducts of the bronze foundries in Venice around 1600.Although the pieces exhibited in Budapest cannot be attributed directly to the creator of the prototype, the Paduan sculptor Tiziano Aspetti, their exaggerated details, characteristic counter-pose, bodies angling in one direction, and hand positions are reminiscent of the master’s style.
