On view Star Fortress (Komárom), Athenian men and women from the fourth century BC, Corridor A

The narrow stele shows two figures opposite each other. On the left, there is a bearded man standing with feet crossed. He bends slightly forward, leaning on a staff, a reference both to his Athenian citizenship and his mature age. A young girl wearing a thin chiton and a long mantle, her hair tied into a bun, stands opposite him. She looks up at the man. Their closeness is indicated by their clasped hands (dexiosis). The relief may represent a grandfather and a granddaughter, but lacking an inscription, we cannot tell which one of them is commemorated by the stele.
