Museum+ December

PROGRAMME

The events can be visited with a valid museum admission ticket or with a Museum+ ticket. Discounts for daytime tickets are also applicable to tickets for the evening event. Similarly to previous Museum + evenings, visitors to our December event will have the opportunity to view the permanent collection and also our temporary chamber exhibition Rembrandt and His Pupils. Drawings and Etchings from the Collections of the Museum of Fine Arts Budapest without the need to purchase a separate ticket.
Our new temporary exhibition Rubens, Van Dyck and the Golden Age of Flemish Painting can be visited during the Museum+ evening with a supplementary ticket available for 600 HUF.
During the Museum+ evening tickets for the event can also be bought in the museum’s ticket offices.

6.30 p.m. BEHIND THE SCENES – Rubens, Van Dyck and the Golden Age of Flemish Painting – How was it made? (in hungarian)
The new, large-scale exhibition mounted by the Museum of Fine Arts presents what is known as the golden age of Flemish painting through 120 or so paintings, with works by Rubens, Van Dyck and others at its focus. How was the exhibition made and how long did it take? What is the significance of the order in which the paintings are arranged? How do pictures come to the museum? What does it mean to borrow and loan a work of art? How is a catalogue made? Why is the publication of a book presenting the exhibition important for the museum?
Júlia Tátrai, the curator of the exhibition helps us peek behind the scenes in conversation with Móni Kaszta / Arkas Design the graphic designer of the catalogue, and Ágnes Véner, an interior designer of Narmer Architecture Studio, which did the interior design for the exhibition. The conversation is moderated by Rita Halász, an art historian at the Museum of Fine Arts.
